Hi folks, my headlights appear to be shorting out. It's a 2002 Firebird. The lights go up and down just fine. When the lights come on though, all four lights are on, but dim. Also, the hi-beam indicator is glowing very dimly on the dash. If I turn on the hi-beams, both passenger side bulbs will come on bright, but the driver side is totally off. This started intermittently a couple of weeks ago, and clicking the hi-beams on and then off fixed the problem. But now it's permanant. Do you think this is a relay problem or a hi-beam switch problem, or a grounding problem? Does anyone know where the relay is that controls the headlights and hi-beams?

Re: Headlights Shorting Out
Any thoughts on this one? I think I'll be getting that haynes manual this weekend, I cannot drive it around at night like this. Thanks......2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock

Re: Headlights Shorting Out
Yep that ended up being the problem. It seems to have been the connector between the drivers headlight assembly and the wiring harness. It may have been a little loose or something. I unplugged it, plugged it back in and all seems to be fine for now. Good call, Crispy2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
