  • how do u change the air filter on a 96 ?

    wasnt sure and didnt want do something i coudnt put back together and i dont have a manual.

    Assuming the setup is stock, you should see a box with 2 (I think) metal clips on it on the left side (driver's side) of the engine bay in the front corner. Pop those clips back and you will be able to separate the two sides of the box. Inside you will find the air filter. [img]smile.gif[/img]

      It's been a while since I've had a stock setup, but IIRC the airbox should lift straight up and out. Then you undo the two latches and the airbox will come apart.

        From what I remember, it was a PITA! I made my own setup, and the filter is easy to access now. Airflow is improved too.

          remove old filter, and replace with new one.

            yeah, it was something like that. Not a PITA as others have said though.

              you may have to loosen the clamps on the ducting. but the air filter houseing assembly just slides out, then you just pull back the two metal latches and replace. it is pretty simple so dont worry about a book.

                Mine just slides right out then undo the clips, put new filter in and do it in reverse.
