  • gauges acting wierd

tonight when i was drivin home from work when i would let off the gas my rpm would drop below normal idle along with oil pressure and battery charge reading or whatever. they went along with each other and it happened a few too many times imo. anyone know what it might be? my car is finally craping out on me, thought i was invincible lol.

yea about 700 maybe, ive noticed this happening before but now the battery gauge drops with everything else, oil, rpm.....could it be the idler or tensioner or whatever its called?

Odd, I have a similar problem when I let off the gas. The RPM drop isnt really drastic,I'd say around 750-800 but the Oil PSI drops to say 40 on the guage, and the volts drop to just before the orange caution marker. What should I start examining?

man its still doing this. im starting to dislike my car due to how many different problems i have, still doesnt start sometimes too. but dont get me wrong, i love camaros. does ANYBODY know what could be causing this rpm oil battery gauge drop ? its happened while im cruising in idle, idk if it happens when im sittin at idle.

ok i think it only does after the car is above maybe 170ish degrees.

              heat thins oil
what does your oil psi drop to?
tensioner doesnt affect anything except for tightening the belt to stay on

drops to idk below the half mark but when throttle is applied it goes up to normal. idk if this is a normal sympton of our cars since my battery gauge will do this dance with the rpm and oil but it wont happen when i first start my car and it isnt at operating temperatures yet

                  Re: gauges acting wierd

that is 100% normal for the oil and all, your motor isnt going as fast, therefore less pressure, and your alt. isnt spinning as fast therfore less voltage

ya but at times it wont drop at all and others all three will drop simultaneously so it cant be "normal". sorry everybody it just bothers the hell out of me that it does this and i have no idea why it's doing this

Have you niticed it more in certain conditions (outside temps, weather) or during certain driving styles, (crusing, aggressive, city, highway)

no just it wont do it when it is first started up, not until operating temperatures but sometimes it wont do it at all
