  • A/C problem

My ac is acting funky. It worked fine until my fan went out and ever since its been acting funny. I've added a can of A134 to my system and my psi is good but it still blows warm air then cools off a little. I think it might be my compressor. It cycles but the air is warm during the day and cold as hell like it should be at night. Any ideas?

When the AC is on (give it a little while), feel the pipes and the accumulator (big cylindrical thing) and see if they are cold. They should be cold enough for condensation to form. If they are like that even in the day, then it wouldn't be your compressor.

if its cools at night and not during the day could be a dirty condenser coil...wash it out. I dont know what year car you have, but our compressers on the 3.8s do not cycle.

My psi is around 40-45. the accumulator is warm but the pipes to the cabin at cold. The coil is infront the the radiator. Oh yeah it's at 95 3.4.

Both freon lines are cold? Only the one going to the accumulator should be cold. If the other one is cold trace it back and see if you maybe hit something and put a dent or bend in that line that would be cuaseing a restriction.

The condenser coil is right in front of the radiator. It looks just like a radiator. Check it for bugs and other debris cought in the fins. Also make sure the fins are straight and not all bent or squashed. Also make sure your fans are running

Everything looks fine and feels ok. My fans are running, I installed a fan switch and know they work. Im going to check my coil tomorrow to see if anything is in it. I don't know what my high pressure psi is. I don't have a guage for it.
