  • tune up help 01 3.8L

    ok i pulled all the boots off but two on the last to the wire snapped. I can't get much of a grip to pull them off any suggestions????
    2001 Navy Blue Camaro W/ silver racing stripes<br />aluminum grill<br />black halo headlights<br />18X9.5 black zo6 rims<br />Flowmaster exhaust<br />Free ram air mod w/ K&N filter

    try turning them on the plugs a few times first, then pull off. You could always use a spark plug boot puller, but good luck getting it on some of the plugs.
    \'97 Firebird 3.8 ... 1/4 mile = 12.50 (minutes)

      If the wires are already ruined you should be able to remove what's left with a pair of pliers. As ma4life said, they make spark plug boot puller tools that are kinda like pliers but with rubber or plastic covered ends so they don't tear the boot.

        Try a pair of pliers, or one of those jar cap removers works really well too!

          pull on the metal cover turn left or right a few times to loosen it, then try to pull out. I have a 2000 camaro and they were a little stuburn. They will come off, but getting the far back ones takes time, patients, and strength. Good luck.
