Probably nothing. You are probably driving it like I drive. I only get 22 - 23 but I spent a lot of time at WOT. :naughty:

i seem to have one of my kids all the time, so i don't think i run it very hard that often. could the jet chip and 180* stat do it?

When I got my 32-34 mpg it was a 7-hour straight drive from Dayton, OH to Greensboro, NC. only one stop at rest-stop. otherwise it was all go all the time. I figured out that my avg speed was 84 mph, and that's not taking off any time for the pit-stop, lol... When I drive around here, I usually find that I avg. about 27, give or take, but that's still mostly highway. The rest of my family all has import 4-bangers, and I get the best gas-mileage out of all of them.

For normal around-town driving I get the same mileage, 22-24 mpg. Mileage sucks around town but is great on the highway.

i get 15.5 on my y87 3.8... most of my driving is city........ i have done plugs and wires recently, and fuel filter.... nothing has upped my milage..... my old 3.4 i was getting like 12 ..... i think maybe the heat here just helps eat up gas.... although on a trip about a year ago, i got like 380 miles on one tank.... right now its about 230

Glad to see everyones on the MPG kick here.

As for 96greenmachine asked, I do have the 3.8L motor in my '96.

I once got 450 miles to the tank in my '91 3.1L Firebird on a long trip to Atlantic City NJ.

I've driven GM vehicles with 454s, 390, 350s,307, 305s, 231s ( Buick GN kinds too ) and I gotta admit having a V6 is fun in the wallet. This will all change when I get my hands on a sinister 5th Gen to thrash around lol.
