Ok, I've been obsessed with the Firebird line for the past six years (I was only 11), and while I know the difference between Firebirds, Trans Ams, and Formulas, I still haven't been able to figure out the MAJOR difference between Trans Ams and Formulas, or even Firehawks. And, also, what's in the WS6 package, and what's the difference between an LT1 and an LS1? I feel like an idiot askin these questions, but hey I gotta learn somehow! Thanks

I'm not a pontiac guy, but as far as I know the firebird is the v6, the formula is the same thing as the firebird but with a 350, and a trans am is the same thing as a formula but with a different front clip, different spoiler and I'm pretty sure all T/A's come with leather.1999 C5
2000 Ford Lightning
Don\'t hate me because I\'m awesome

let's see if i can get this right.
firebird - base model, v6 engine
firebird gt - same as firebird, with y87 package (3.42/lsd, dual exhaust, etc)
formula - base v8 model
trans am - same as formula with different front clip, high rise spoiler, and a bit more power
trans am ws6 - same as trans am with ram air hood, i think a different spoiler, and a bit more power
firehawk - basically a trans am with some different peices here and there, much like a saleen or rousch mustang. i forget which company, but anyway, they've taken it and put their own touch on ityou can\'t get off if you don\'t get on

This all depends on the Generation of the Firebird. The present, and last, is the 4th Generation. The following is for the 4th Generation.
Firebird - base model, came with a V6 3.4L then 3.8L engine in late 1995. Upgrades includes the Y87 Performance (also unoffically know as the 3800GT) Package and W68 Appearance Package.
Formula - Same body as the Firebird, but with a V8. V8 used was the LT1 until 1998 when the LS1 engine was used.
Trans Am - Same basic body, and V8 engine, but with a different front bumper cover, rocker panel covers, rear bumper cover and from 1996 on with the uplevel GT spoiler. Prior to that the spoiler was an option.
WS6 - A performance upgrade package for both the Formula and Trans Am.
Firehawk - A factory approved aftermarket modification. First based on the Formula, then both and lastly on the Trans Am. Many differences based on year manufactured (too many to list here).Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com
