pull the fuel pump fuse, crank over the engine to use up the fuel in the lines and relieve pressure, then go at your fuel filter and get that thing off.
wouldnt that put a bad air bubble in the fuel line? or am i crazy?
When everything is reassembled and plugged in, prior to starting the car, you have to "prime" it. You do this by turning the key all the way to ACC but not starting the car. You will hear the pump (at least on my GTP), once it stops, the fuel lines are free of air.
I left my cap on when I replaced my filter. I was on about 3/4 tank and about a cup or so came out, and yes gas hurts in the eyes, is bad up the nose, and bad in the mouth hahah. After I reinstalled I just held the key and let the motor crank over for ~45 seconds and you could hear a slight gurgling then it finally fired up. A couple revs and all air was out and it was idling nice and smooth.
