    Thermostats control the flow of coolant through the engine, and therefore the temperature. Not exactly a high power mod.

      Not knowing what your vehicle is ...

      I think 98 and newer already have a 180. If you go lower to a 160, some 2001s (mine), will throw a code, enriching the intake with fuel to increase the temp which will never increase due to the thermostat being open.
