Re: Overheating with Wings West Ground Effects
first check and make sure its not a cooling problem. you sure you have plenty of coolant? whens the last time u changed that pump? i've seen the pumps get eaten away over time.... i could see if you had a weak cooling system and then you put on the kit and it just pushed it over the edge.2000 3.8L Camaro A4 Pewter Y87<br />K&N Filter, SLP Ram Air kit, Eibach Pro Kit, Flowmaster 80 series, Silverstars, NGK plugs and MSD Super Conductor Wires, Electric Water Pump

Re: Overheating with Wings West Ground Effects
take the ground effects off (if possible) and see if it overheats.. just to see if that is what is really causing it.
im having trouble believin it is overheating because of the kit, unless somehow something is blocked of course

Re: Overheating with Wings West Ground Effects
I am willing to bet that it is the bumper. A manual fan may be my only option i guess. i also have heard of this happening in the past.
Well, last summer i rebuilt my entire engine, had the radiator flushed and acid dipped, got a 180* stat and all new coolant etc. The car ran perfectly cool at 180-200 at most all the time, until i put the ground effects on.
Taking it off isn't an option to try because it is painted, attatched the the bumper very well, and shaved (blended )with urethane filler. So basically not an option.
Lastly, the black plastic flap is lower than stock, and is meant to draw air up into the radiator. if i used the stock, it would be too short, and not hang lower than the bumper.
