well this has been a problem i have had for a while. there is a crazy knocking sound comming from the drivers side of the engine but............ its not the lifters any ideas?????

yea sounds like you got some engine troubles, your oil psi shouldn't be that low

typically when you have a spun bearing oil pressure is REAALLY low reguardless of the rpm. so im basing this on what ive personally seen. i wouldnt drive the car until its fixed. if you do you'll be spending alot of cash fixing other things.

You should be getting something like 50+ psi of oil pressure with the throttle open.
That could be a large part of your problem.
The low oil pressure can make the lifters tick, but appear fine, and can also ruin your bearings and make the rods knock.1997 Chevrolet Camaro v6 - 13.8@104MPH
