  • HOW DO I PULL CODES ON 94 3.4. CANT USE PAPER CLIP MOUSE ATE THRU WIRES

WELL A FEW YEARS BACK I TRYED TO PULL CODES VIA SHORTING TERMINALS ON OBD-1 CONNECTOR. FOUND OUT IT DIDNT WORK. I ALSO HAD THIS HAPPEN ON A 95 CORSICA AND ALSO THE REGULAR CODE READERS DONT WORK.

I READ SOMETHING I THINK ONCE THAT 94-95 3.4'S USE THE OBD-1 CONNECTOR BUT THE OBD-II BAUD RATE.

DOES ANYONE KNOW 4 SURE WHATS DIFFERENT AND HOW I CAN PULL CODES....

A MOUSE BUILT A NEST IN THE PLENUM AREA AND ATE TO WIRES, I FIXED THAT BUT SOMETHING ELSE IT MUST HAVE GOT TO. IT RUNS MUCH NICER NOW BUT SES LIGHT COMES ON AFTER LIKE 30 SECONDS.

    HELP

Any garage with a GM Tech-1, Kal, or any other ODB-I compatible scanner can read it. You can even buy the equipment yourself, a decent multi-line live data display can go for anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand.

i tried a regular obd-i code scanner. they do not work on 94-95 3.4 f-bodys.

most of them are glorified paper clips essentially and you cannot use the paper clip method on these cars.

Yeah, a simple code reader will not work. You need a scan tool. I borrowed one of these and it works on our cars.

Retail is $400 but they are on eBay all the time for $250-$275 Buy-It-Now and even cheaper if you wait for one to be auctioned.
