  • Locking gascap

I just called Autozone and they don't have one listed for a 2002 Camaro, but I asked if they have one for a 1998 and he said they do. Would these be the same as an 02 gascap, or could something have changed?

I ordered one off of a auto parts website for a 98 camaro and it didn't fit on my 98 camaro. I ordered 3 sets of blue backup bulbs for it too and they don't fit....its like my car is special and the listed bulbs don't fit. Whats going on.

Speedy, what is th bulb number you ordered? I got the blue reverse lights on ebay for like 10 bux, and they didn't work in my car. I don't remember the light number for the ones on ebay, but I do know that the actual light number for our reverse bulbs is something like 3155k (or 3165k). Not the 1156 bulb, like on ebay. At least for a 99 model Camaro anyway. So, I gave nuetral feedback, and gave the bulbs to a friend with a 96 Celica.

Why not take your gas cap into the store and find one the looks like it? That's how I found a stant that fits my car.

Everyone sells a 1156 for my reverse lights. Even sylvania lists that as my bulb. As for the locking gas cap, I have yet to see one at any parts store that looks like the one on my car.

I picked up an AC Delco locking gas cap that works -- no SES light. The old part number was 22616294. The new part number is 22660006. The cost is $11.32 U.S.

GM does not list this cap for the Camaro, but it does work -- at least for my 2001 Camaro. It should work for 1999 through 2002 Camaros. Don't know about Firebirds, sometimes there are subtile differences.
