Re: oil leak
if its just an intake leak you can do it yourself. gaskets are cheap and pulling the upper/lower intake is pretty easy. wouldnt take you more than maybe 3 hours with the right tools and a haynes manual.

Re: oil leak
not good with cars?!!!? :p j/k
heres your chance to start learning then! go to autozone and pick up a haynes manual or chiltons manual for the car they should have procedures and instructions on how to do it. keep in mind most of us werent good with cars when we got into them. sometimes just getting in there and learning how to do it is the way to go which is what most of us did. its not a difficult job in my opinion. just get someone to help you out that has a pretty good idea of what they are doing and you should be fine.
think of it this way, would you rather spend 500 bucks on someone else doing it or do it yourself for under probably 50 bucks and pick up some knowledge along the way?

Re: oil leak
On the back passenger side of the engine, theres a little cap that is where the distributor used to go. It's now where you put the shaft to drive the oil pump off of the cam. I don't remember there being a gasket on there, I might be wrong, but I think there was just one bolt holding it on. You are going to have to pull at least the plennum to get to it, and probably the lower intake also.
I found a couple of pics but it's mostly covered in the others...

yeah that where he said its leaking from the shaft to drive the oil pump and he says its commen on f-body and it leaks down the engine making it look like its the rear main seal

Re: oil leak
See that's the benifit to taking to a shop. If they say it's something, then they change it, and that doesn't fix it, that's on them. But if someone says its that, then it's not, you just waisted alot of time on it without fixing it. The only other thing that could be leaking from that area is the back of the lower intake.
