• Got a hose out, what is it :-/

    Hi

Now I have a little lol question.. Today i opened my hood and I saw there's a hose that's unplugged since i don't know when... Nevertheless the car runs just fine so I was wondering what this should normally serve for..

Have a look at the 2 pictures below and tell me if you know what that hose is used for.. Could it be to make the engine run more efficient or ?

Please let me know, I really dont know anything about cars, nevertheless I love 'em

Looks to me likes thats the PCV valve hose. Its supposed to go from the valve cover off to some other part... It wont really affect the way the car runs, as far as noticable rough idle or anything like that. Id figure out whats wrong and hook it back up though.

Lol, there's even a feather in the hole where the hose is supposed to be plugged May be a bird nested last summer there

Yeah, I'll try and plug it back in, but what goes through it ? air ? hmm.. if it works without it, what does it do actually then ?
