help question?????????

does anybody know about or have this same problem?
ok whrn the car is in park the engine wont rev past 4000 rpm but between 3500 and 4000 rpm it surges and won't go above 4000, but in gear driving in runs all the way up to redline with no problems. any help or suggestion is appericated

I believe that is a rev limiter that gm put in to make sure the driver doesn't wreck their engine. Mine does the same

That would be correct its the rev limiter does the same in neutral!
