My car sound like it ahs a turbo

i was wondering if it was normal that a turbo type nosie comes form the engine
when accelerating?

if it's a whine, it could just be your fuel pump.

its not a fuel pump because the pump is eletric and this sound cahnges with rpm and i guess it could be the power stering

not normal unless you have a nice cold air kit in it and they sometimes sound like a turbo when taking off.

its nothing to worry about. unless your alternator is burned up, but you'd know if that was the case when the voltage takes a nose dive.

on my t/a its always made that sound as did my old 3.4 and my buddies 99z28 does it too. so id say its typical and nothing to worry about. it kinda cracks me up when i hear it, it makes me want to go drop 4k on a procharger and get some superchager whine.

After I did my intake it sounds like that you can hear the air being sucked in to the engine

could be so many things. CAI, power steering, alternator, serpetine belt, etc.

open your hood, and look around and see if maybe your car actually is supercharged/ turbocharged ......

When my friend's car had metal shavings in his rack and pinion/power steering pump, the power steering pump would whine like crazy

my car has sounded supercharged for te past like 2 years... get V8's to back down rather nicely. but ive never had a problem involving that noise, just lots of fun!:naughty:

o and btw it could be your alternator bearing. i know a guy with a Grand Prix GTP and the whine from his alternator is louder than the blower itself
