how many qts does a 96 v6 camaro trans take???

According to my haynes manual, it takes 5qts for an automatic and 3.4 qts for a 5 speed2000 Camaro 3.8 v6 M5
Flowmaster 80 series muffler, B&M ripper shifter, SLP grille

So i added in 5 qts and now it seems to shift hard again, when i had only 4 i took it for a test drive and it shifted really smooth i could barely notice it , so is that bad or good?Comment

Its an auto , well i had 4 in so i put 1 more in , because the haynes manaul says its 5 , i just got one, is that wrong? i read somewhere else it was 4.1 thats why i first added 4Comment
