  • Sudden overheating problem + A/C blowing warm air

i finally got the car running perfect again, then after sitting outside for 6 hours in 90 degree weather after a car show with the hood up i set off on a 30 minute drive home. as soon as i pulled off the lot the temperature started shooting up on me. after a couple minutes i noticed that the air conditioning was getting warm too (coincidence?). Could these two things be related? I turned off the AC and i had my manual fan switch blowing on high (i verified that the fans were blowing). The temp hovered about 210 for a while, and was a little lower than that on the highway, but when i got off on the stop and go side roads, it got all the way up, almost to the red. Its never been this high before and i find it hard to believe that a hot day could cause this. I checked that coolant was getting through at the thermostat, the fans come on, and i checked the coolant level when it was hot and it seemed to be allright (i need to check it cool later). Ive been getting some white smoke on startup and thats had me worried. I havn't seen any leaks and my water pump was replaced about 25,000 miles ago. Any ideas?

i thought the same, oil does not really appear milky though, and i dont really seem to be loosing any coolant

whats the easiest foolproof way to test for a busted head gasket?

it was over 100* today, dont worry about it, if it is still doing it next week when it cools down then i would be worried (my car was running a lot warmer than it normally does the past 2 days as well)

as for the A/C its gotta be a concidince, the AC and the cooling systems are completly separate

head gasket check, check the coolant for oil, and the oil for coolant

doesnt seem to be mixing. i just did an oil change about 100 miles ago though. oil still looks brand new.
