• Fuel Pump InLine vs InTank

Just would like to know which one is better or they are basically both perform the same?
Pros and cons. ie MSD vs Walbro
(difficult of install is not a cons)

Intank is better. Too much noise with the inline.

But both of them would pretty much do the job.

remember that an inline is the cost plus do it yourself and the in tank is cost plus 500 os so from install. That is, unless you wanna cut your car (i wouldnt risk it) and drop it from the top like people have done.

They have to lower the rear, exhaust, etc. to take the tank off and i was quoted no less than 450-500 bucks. I'd take the extra whine personally, unless you can change it out yourself.

I have an MSD inline pump, how does that work if it doesnt go in the tank? and how do you hook it up?

cutting a whole in the trunk is no big deal. do it right, read up on it, use good tools. W body cars already have an access whole in their trunks....gm just forgot to give us one as well.

for the price (or hassle) of droping the tank out of the car you can get off cheaper by buying a cut off grinder and doing it yourself.

i host a guide for cutting access whole in trunk on my website.

inline is easier. you still need to rout power to it.

Im not considering install as a problem Im gonna do it by myself. If fuel tank needs to be dropped , I will. That is not a problem. Noise is a concern. How about flow and price?

if install isn't a problem just go with the in tank walbro. Search up for flow numbers, but i think that the in tank can flow more than the in line and you wont have the excess noise.

I would go with a intank. Alot less to deal with wiring the msd and running it off your fuel line. Cutting a hole in the back was pretty simple and installing the walbro was really easy.

I would like to disagree on the noise of the inline. Ih ave a paxton and wired it up only to turn on under boost.

When I'm in boost, there's a lot louder things going on in my car like the exhaust so i dont' hear it ever.

I had to wire up an LED to know it was coming on

Much easier to install and fix/replace should the need arrive.

So you guys saying that even if inline pump is installed it is not necessary to have it powered?
Does it cause any restriction when it is off?

nope..the car works just as normal when its off..but when its on it can handle your increased fuel demands..i would especially go for the inline if this is for nitrous or performance only at WOT..then its there when you need it..off when you dont..for example..like i was saying..i wired mine into my arming switch for the nitrous..so the pump only comes on when nitrous is actually being used..otherwise its off

Thats what im gonna do,
I agree with 1DangerousV6 , it depends on application. Its better to have inline for NOS. You fire it up when you needed. With FI it would be to many on/off cycles. Intank probably would do better.
