  • I bet no one here can answer this question.

Now that I have your attention. I need help with my van. (1990 Trans Sport)

First off. The intake assembly (air feed, silencer, can style filter housing, and what looks like a heating duct [a pipe from the intake to the heat sheild on the manifold, wtf?]) are about to fall off. Anyone delt with this?

Second: I think one of the motor mounts is busted. THere is a steel arm that goes from the front of the engine bay and bolts on to the engine. There is a rubber bushing on this part, which is ripped to shreads. How expensive would this bushing be and how hard to replace?

Will this destroy the car if I dont fix it? The van blue books at less than $500 so I dont want to spend more than like $30 on it.

    Thanks :(

    Adam

The motor mount should be around 30 bucks but as far as the intakes the best thing to do is take them aprat and re RTV them and re gasket them and reassemble

I'd park it next to the river and charge bum rent.

word. there is nothing wrong with that van, it's actually pretty fun. we had 9 people in it the other day, and we also had a leather couch, 3 people, and an ENTIRE exhaust system from a 99 Z28 in it as well. that was the shiznit.

lot of fun...definetely more fun inside the car than there is in our stupid, crampt f-bodies. that thing peels out better than any stock verter'd or manual f-body i know too!!! no kidding.

quit dissin the van, that thing is the shizzy on the hizzy my nizzy!

FYI, the duct is there to heat the intake air during the winter. It helps the engine warm up quicker and save gas.

Update: I fixed the intake problem...see, it didnt have the wingnut on top that holds the lid down on the can...i bought one and put it on and now it is rock solid!

6mm for the rest of you on here that have Pontiac Trans Sports back when they used can style filters.
