I'm thinking of getting a new shift knob, but I don't know if this one will fit. It's a five speed transmission; I just am not sure if this will thread on. If it won't, I was thinking about shortening my stick anyway. How would I go about doing this and retapping the threads? Here's the link:
Well, I bought a Hurst Shifter with my B&M Ripper, and it fit perfectly. I believe that most of those shift knobs are a basic thread size so they fit most american made cars.
Call and ask though. You can't go wrong there.
If you wanted to shorten the stick, just buy or borrow a tap and die set. They're tricky to used if you've never used one before, but just cu tthe stick down, and then use the appropriate die 3/8-16, and thread it. Just be sure to use some sort of oil lubricant while using the die, or you won't get anywhere.

Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
