OK I have just rebuilt this 3.4 V6 engine and am 100% sure of its mechanical condition but it starts up and then immediately shuts down. I have already bypassed the theft deterrant relay and know it is getting good spark and fuel at least for a couple seconds and then it just dies. Engine sounds good and starts up quickly but only runs for about two seconds. I was wondering if there is any computer function from the ECM that will kill an engine that fast? I even bypassed the fuel pump relay to keep it running but no change. I can smell fuel in the tailpipe also. Vacuum line to fuel pump regulator is dry (no fuel leakby). Getting good spark from checking with strobe timing light on each plug. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Re: 94 Firebird starts/stops immediately
GREAT NEWS,..its fixed! I just performed the passkey resistor modification and cleaned the wiring connector to the alternator and BINGO it runs perfect. My 3.4 rebuild looks and sounds great, so after 100,000 miles or more we will see the true test of how well I did. Thanks so much for this website and all the information which is available. Have a great day!
