  • Calibrating the tach on 155mph speedo?

I know this has been mentioned many times before, but I can't find the answer I'm looking for using the search feature.
If I swap out my 120mph cluster for a 155mph cluster, the actual speedometer will read correctly, right? But the tachometer will be off, right? How do I get it to read like a V6? I remember somebody mentioning that all that has to be done is to put a small capacitor or resistor in-line somewhere and it will read correctly. I know Dakota Digital has an adaptor but if I can save some $$$ I would like to. Anyone have any other ideas?

I would also like to know. Do you know if the dakota digital thing will work just fine? I've never heard of it being used sucsesfully w/ this setup.

Someone said a while ago that everything was right on except the tach and odometer and to fix the tach they took the resistor or something from the v8 out and replaced it with the v6 and the tach worked perfect, or something like that, just get a cluster from the same year car as yours

Exactly!!! That's what I heard too. The cluster is from the same year and I'm going to have the odometer adjusted to reflect my milage. Anybody know the exact procedure......???

I heard it fit and worked fine with no adjustments needed... 98+ anyways.
