The oil fill neck that is attached to the valve cover is loose. Can this piece be replaced or do I have to buy a whole new valve cover?

I'm pretty sure you can buy just that but it will come with the cap making it more expensive than it should be. :\

Is that a dealer only part or are there aftermarket parts?

does it just twist loose? i'd be afraid to break it and drop a chunk of plastic in the valve cover

                      Re: Oil Filler Neck

My filler neck was loose as well, and the more I tried to remove it the more loose it became. Finally gave up trying to remove it cause it looked like it was going to break off. Really didn't want that, and cetainly didn't want to leave it loose. If left loose the PCV system will draw air through there and with the air comes dust and dirt which collects in the rocker box area of the heads. I had to do the valve cover gaskets on a 86' 3.8 that had a loose oil filler cap and I couldn't believe the sludge and crap that had collected under the valve covers. The rocker arms where half covered!! Took alot of work to clean it all out. (Car had 245 K miles on it!)

So to make a long story short, for my FB I forced Red RTV into the gap between the base of the filler neck and the valve cover. This not only secured the filler neck, it also sealed it up.

You have to kinda play with, and pull VERY hard. It will come out with out breaking.
