Smoke comin' out of the vents is most definitely a heater core problem.

Other than reviving a 6 year old thread... You probably have a small heater core leak. I would change it yourself if you can do it yourself. If your put it off keep an eye out of antifreeze on the passenger side floormats (heater core is right behind the glovebox).
well my car is now over heating and it gets hot really fast
In the last 9 months I have replaced the thermostat the radiator cap and flushed and rodded my radiator any one know why its over heating now , it over heats so bad that the engine has a hard time staying on
And my heater doesn't work and my coolant was brown and the mechanic said I had alot of rust. And I noticed that when it over heats one of the hoses shakes and pulsates
Problem Fixed. It was my water pump it went out . The fan inside the water pump SPLIT in HALF. I thought it was the thermostat so i put it in boiling hot water and if opened and I had just got my radiator flushed and rodded so through process of elimination i figured it was my water pump..
