  • High RPM's on idle

The other day I decided that I was going to clean out my engine bay a little bit, so I used the hose. Now I know there are certain things you need to cover and such however I only had it on shower and I was only really washing off parts of the plastic and such because it was very dusty, I really didnt go near the block. When I started my car the next day it would idle at around 2000-2500. I let it run for a little bit to see if it would stop, it didnt, I decided to take it for a drive and 1 hour later it didnt change. I went home and left it for about 3 hours (car was off), I went back out to try it again and it was fine, idiling at around 800-1000, which was normal for me. So I just thought something got wet or something and it dried... I dont know, I really didnt have an explanation. Now this morning I started my car and it is idling at around 1500, same deal as before but it was at 1500 this time. Im not really a car person and I really dont have any idea what to check or to look for. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened and how it could be fixed?

Yes, I did do a search but I couldn't find anything on this exact topic, with water and all.

Check for unplugged sensors. 2k-2.5k at idle seems WAY too high!

When u do your engine u can douse the hell out of it with no problems but jus use an air compressor and blow the hell outa the engine.
