I'm sorry, what am I supposed to be looking for?
Outside of the engine isnt really gonna tell you much!

Have you opened your radiator? Did you bleed the air?

The fans are programmed to run for an extra time period after the engine is turned off, if it gets above a certain temp.

Make sure you dont let it overheat by itself! Shut it off

first of, check your oil!! does it look like yogurt or regular oil?
      are you loosing coolant?

yep.. exactly check your oil.. coolant leaks into the oil if it's a head gasket leak. Hell you could've spun a bearing.. Check your coolant for leaks too. The only way to really tell is to bring it to a mechanic or to have a Block Check kit

Those are clear pictures, but I can’t tell for sure - isn’t that wet area under your water pump? Could be your water pump has gone out. They usually leak from the bottom whenever it’s time to replace one, and your car will over heat. Also, whenever you add coolant, make sure that it is mixed with water in the right proportions. I don’t think that it is advisable to add just coolant, or just water, it needs to be mixed - usually 50-50. Look to see if you have wetness under your water pump though, and take off your oil cap to see if there is moisture condensation under it. Then check your oil and see if there is some whitish looking stuff on the dip stick. The moisture condensation under the oil cap is a good (or bad) sign that the head gasket is blown, as well as the whitish looking stuff on the dip stick, which is oil and coolant mixed together.

never heard of one of those
The best thing to use is either:
            Compression tester (cheap) OR
Cylinder Leak Down tester ($40 at harbor freight, but have to have an air compressor)

Use the bleeder! It is God!!

If there is air in the system the engine will (no ifs ands or buts) overheat.

If you find air when you open the bleeder you have to ask why air is there. Look for:
              - low coolant level? because of head gasket leaks, external leakage
              - improper coolant mixture? (water turns to steam and vapor locks)

If you don't find air, then you have to look for stuff like:
              - Poor coolant flow (Thermostat not opening, plugged/clogged radiator, damaged/slipping water pump impeller, etc..)
              - Poor airflow over radiator (debris blocking radiator, air deflector missing, cooling fans not operating.
              -

I would guess your waterpump is out and leaking coolant from it by looking at the pics. Did you install anything and then this overheating occurred?

If its that bad you could prob let the car run and watch for the leak.

It looks like its either one of the intake manifold gaskets or maybe
                  one of the coolant elbows.

Could also be the waterpump like others have stated.

you could get that UV glow in the dark dye to help see where its leaking from.
I need some of that stuff
I think you gotta use a black light too

here is another way to check for leaks!
you can go to Auto zone and ask to rent a coolant system pressure tester
it ia easy to use and very effective then when you are finished with it you can take it back and they will give you your money back.

Pressurize the system and you will see where it is leaking from
