could also be rear main but I highly doubt it

casting plugs = freeze plugs = block core plugs?

          Re: Coolant Leak

its just a metal, round plug in the back of your heads probably hidden by a layer of dirt or in the back of your block also hidden by dirt

I replaced 2 of my block freeze plugs... they're easy to do
I would rather replace the ones on the bottom of the block, yes they are on the BOTTOM
I would hate to have to take off the heads, just to replace a freeze plug

You replaced two of the bottoms? Did you use rubber ones or put metal. Did you pull the motor to put them in? I had to replace two of mine and I used rubber and I've had them blow out on me 3 times in the last year!

I used metal ones... they were silver color
Havent came out since, or leaked
I did not pull the motor, just got underneath the car

why use rubber? is that an aftermarket piece? I would assume the rubber wouldnt hold up either since your coolant system runs around 15psi

would you think its a head gasket or manifold gasket

it don't overheat but i have to add fluid daily and no fluid in my oil.
