I tried today to get the stinking bolts off but i just couldnt. I even went out and baught some extra tools, used half a can of WD-40. The things just wouldnt budge.
And i dont even know how im going to get to the bolt closest to the drivers side.
I went out and bought a socket with a joint built in. It is shallow and flexes. From the ps you can reach the bolt with an extender....once the bolt gets about 1/2 way out you will hit the tb with a regular socket, but the jointed one works for about 3/4 and then the rest by hand. I will admit it is not easy, but doable w/o removing the tb.
Not sure where you live, but if you are near houston, i would be glad to help.

Just remove your intake hosing something you provably removed to just get to the thermostat housing, unhook the thottle cable, the sensors and undo the 2 bolts, and pull it off, you will rip the gasket but I pulled my TB off like 10 times and still used the original gasket all the way up to 130k when I sold the car and never had it leak form there... idleds smoothly.
