My brother just got a 97 RS camaro, and needs to replace his driveshaft because the 2 piece DS middle support is cracked, so I wanted to make sure that a single piece aluminum DS would fit perfectly fine before i told him to get it...and the gaskets where the DS goes into the trans are leaking...so how hard are those to replace?
the seals you just have to pop out and pop the new ones back in. No biggy, and the driveshaft is a direct swap as long as the ls1 that it is coming off of didn't upgrade to a 12bolt and change the yoke.
I swapped the one piece alum. into my 97 and there were no problems.
i have a 1 piece steel ds for sale if you want it.. it will be better than the 2 piece and cheaper than a alum. it took about 15 min. to swap mine out to alum.
