  • Abit to spend

I've got ~$150 to spend on my car. I've already have a cat-back exhaust and cold air intake, and was hoping to find something else to use it on. I was thinking I might be able to find a good used LSD and 3.42's, but is there anything else I should get? Should I do more engine bolt on stuff (if there is any), or should I go with drivetrain stuff now? I was hoping more engine wise, but anything is good, what would you guys recommend? I'm already talking to someone on here about a driveshaft, but I may go with something else.

Nope. I was thinking of doing the 160 stat and TB Coolant bypass, but never really got around to it. And if I get a custom tuned PCM, then if I do anything else, I've got to get another one, or get it retuned. And a Cam is outa my price range, along with pulley sets, I think.

dont waste your time and money on chips, stats, or bypasses. all that does is make your car run TOO cold.

for $150, there isnt a hell of a lot you can do, usnfortunately. you have knocked out the cheap mods and now it gets tough. I would get some NGK spark plugs, maybe some taylor wires or something, then honestly save the rest for future mods.

for 150, I would upgrade to the aluminum driveshaft. Don't mess with the steel, go right to an aluminum one. You will notice a difference with this upgrade, at least I did and most people I talk to have.

How much you want for it? That's what I was thining, was either a DS, or a used posi and gears. I was looking into some Taylor 8.2mm wires, along with some NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs, but don't think I want/need them much.

you could get a cam, but your budget is gonna be short for it. cam install run around like 500+ once you get all the valvetrain upgrades and all.

gears and posi upgrade is tough to find for 150 or less. Used rear ends go for 300 bucks.

if you are refering to the came in the for sale section, you are gonna need some work done to your valve train to handle it.

He says I only need to get my valve pedestals milled down some. How hard would that be, or how much would it cost? My uncle's a mechanic, so he'd most likely do it all for me if I asked him to. How much gain do you think I'd see from that?

EDIT: Nvm, did some readin on it, and I don't want it afterall. So, I may be interested in your DS. I would really like to find a LSD and gears though. How much of a difference would I see form the DS? I know it won't be much, but just an estimate.

EDIT 2: Did some more searching (I'm a good boy :P ) and foudn that there's about an average of .2 coming off of 1/4 times with a aluminum shaft. So, all I can say is I think you should hold that one for me man. I should hopefully have the money by either tomorrow or Wednesday (depends on if I have time to get to the bank tomorrow).
