• Do I have a potential problem?

Last weekend I tried the ait mod I beleive it is. The one where you put a resistor in the air intake tempature sensor. The car is running very strong through out the entire rpm range now. A few months ago the exaust return pipe thingy got a crack in it and it was throwing codes all the time. I finally got that fixed but it would still throw codes once in a while, like 2-3 per hour. I thought I just had a sensor going bad from the exaust thing. Now that I have put the resistor in I have not gotten any lights. Could my car have been ruinning a little lean and throwing codes? If so is that a problem I should have checked out now that I have that mod? Also for people that have tried this mod, does your car surge foward sometimes when you are easing foward with your foot on the brake? Just wondering. Thanks for the resistor Firefighter

      What code(s) was it throwing?

The only things I can think of are either your IAT is bad, or your o2's might be bad.

        the exuast return thing??? EGR???

that resitor mod advances your timing thats all it does, it tells the PCM cooler air is coming in then what really is.

It is just a regular resistor, can't remember what size, that plugs into the IAT sensor plug by the throttle body. I think there are some posts on it all ready.

it was a 10 ohm, .5 watt resistor from radio shack I beleive.

haha I couldn't think of the letters. Yeah thats it lol. But if the air comming in was cooler that would mean there would be slightly mose comming in right? So the computer would then compensate by adding more fuel right? But sense the air is not really cooler then it runs the car a little rich then. BTW my gas millage went down about 1.5 MPG. But there is a good amount of torque now.

And I don't know what the codes were. couldn't check then because the 95 is OBD1 but the connectors are OBD2 connectors. I found out the hard way by buying a code reader a few months ago.
