Lately my car has been acting strange. When i am driving down the road, it will start to hesitate and bog i guess you could say. When i give it gas, it sometimes goes fine for a while, then acts up again. I took it to a transmission place and they did some tests and drove it and they claim it is not the transmission. I originally thought it was slipping but they claim that it was not. They said that it could be the air fuel mixture. I did buy a SLP intake last year, but i called SLP and they said that their intake should not cause that to happen. Also when i rev the engine, it sounds fine, leading me to think it is not the air fuel mixture. Any ideas on what you think could be making my car act up. Thanks alot.

That sounds similar to what happened to me. I replaced the plugs and wires and it now runs fine.95 Firebird
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250
http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/

me on a good day------> linky

Mines doing the same thing....alot of people have lead me to believe its the fuel pump and its pumping too lean, but I dont think thats it. Plugs could be it, i didnt really think of that but it kinda makes sense. Could it also be a bad fuel filter? or anything fuel related like line pressure?

I am really not sure what is happening to my car. I have a SLP intake with reuseable filters. I recently cleaned them and the car does seem to be running better, but i can still feel the problem occuring. I was reading that the oiled reuseable filters, like the ones on my slp intake, can have a harmful affect to the transmission and air sensor as well as other parts. The oil from the filters reacts with the sensors and other parts and eventually caues damage. I read that this one person had the same problem and they would brush the air sensor whenever they cleaned the filters. I e-mailed SLP and i am still waiting to see what they say. I am ording new plugs and wires, i need new ones anyway. I'll let ya all know if my problem gets any better with the help of these.1996 V6 Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/id/nexplicit15

It's probably not the air filter (I'm assuming a K&N). I'd say go for the plugs/wires first, and check your coils also when you change wires. That's what usually causes it. You could also replace the fuel filter (like less than $10) and maybe have your injectors cleaned. But I'd definitely try the plugs and wires first, cause you description is what a lot of people experience when they go bad.AIM: Alientr8tr
1998 Camaro 3.8L
Flowmaster 80-series, !FRA, Eibach Springs, KYB AGX, SLP sway bars, 3.42/LSD, Wings West kit, Z06 Motorsports, Silverstone Metallic paint
Shift 5 - My Band
