  • Where to find bits and pieces?

Besides trying to loot car corpses in junkyards or going through a dealer for a premium, are there other good places to look for odds and ends that might need replacing?

For example, the little plastic cover that fits over the driver side mirror adjusting lever in the corner of the door broke off, so now the lever just hangs free by the little cables, and the side mirror is always getting moved.

I'm loathe to try looking someplace like e-bay, since the car sections seem loaded these days with nothing but gimmick accessories and scams. Is there anywhere else to look for things like these?

gmpartsdirect.com is a great place for all your parts. Cheaper than dealers, but not as cheap as if you bought from someone on a forum or ebay.

That's perfect. I'll be going back to that site again and again.

classicindustries.com has a camaro/firebird catalog. You can build an entire car from the parts in there.

I too had the exact same thing break and didn't want to get raped by dealer. After 3.5 years I inally ordered one from dealer. It cost me 12 bucks. Call them and see what they'll charge you. It may be alot cheaper than thought.
