    i bought my 1996 3.8 camao a few weeks ago and a hose comming off the throttlebody is plugged, anyone know why it is, or where it is supposed to go?

    I believe it's the TB coolant bypass. That's the cheap way of doing it. This way, the engine runs abit cooler, and cooler means more power (most of the time). I'm not 100% sure of that though, so let's wait for someone else to chime in.

          haha^ i was thinking the same thing. look like the car has been sitting a while. another way to keep your car running cooler, is to put plain ole' distilled water in the cooling system and there is this stuff designed specially for this that you add also that doesnt allow rust to form. i forgot whats its called, but basically it allows safe usage of pure water in your system. if interested i can get the name of the stuff you add.

            That would be Water Wetter, it also lowers the temp a few degrees to help the engine as well.

              That is a vacuum line.

              cant tell where it goes (i have a 2002)

              coolant bypass is done on our cars behind the throttle body to the upper intake mani. sealed system.

                that is what my dad said too, but i cant find a place where it is supposed to hook up to. Is this somthing i should fix, or just leave?
