• 3.4l guys what do you think of this chip?

    http://www.adsperformancechip.com/index.html

never heard of them someone posted this in drag racing forum as a reply.

loooks to do the things I want it to do... boost timeing, adn play with air/fuel mixture...

thing that catches my eye the most is the $129.99 price.

I saw the same thing, and it was my thread in which that chip was posted about. I would like to know also about it because the price is great, and for a high school student without "expendable funds ;) :D " it looks like a promising investment. And why do you need the thermo?

From what I researched on it a few years ago, it's pretty decent. It's a basic chip that gives decent upgrades. I liked the JET chip over it though because JET has the Stage 1 and Stage 2 and I was more confortable with JET's description of their product and detail of what was changed with their chip.

Honestly though, I think you will tell decent gains.

yeha.... but I know what you mean i am just loking into what it does... May not be the best jsut hoping for a little gain roughly a 0.012 gain

            Anyone else hear anything.

I know custom is the way but I am not inot spending big bucks... I was thinking of streching for a jet chip... being track only is no problem for me...

yup, it was a little under .3 off the 1/4 and i haven't installed the 160* t-stat it came with.

I think that you will tell VERY similar gains between the JET Stage 2 and the Venom module.

How is this thing a chip when our computers don't have removable chips? Or is this thing like the JET moduals that go inline w/ the connectors before they go into the computer? Do they offer speed limiter removal? I wouldn't think you could get rid of that unless you go inside the computer code itself.

yup, it's a module that hooks inline between the PCM and the harness. and no, it does not get rid of the speed limiter.

i think Stagen also had one.

Yes, I had one and to be honest the only difference I saw was in the temperature. It controls the fan better.

After I did my CAM and Rocker install I had a audible knock. When I de-modded my car before selling it I took the ADS off and the knock went away. After I sold the car the new owner called me a few weeks later and said the car was over heating everyday. I put the unit back on and all was fine.

Personally I would not use it. I never did a Dyno with it so I can't prove it did not add any performance but I can tell from SOTP and track times that it "DID NOT" make any improvements.
