I heard the best way to change out plugs is buying a specially long socket wrench socket and then using a opened end wrench on the socket end... where does one get this or is it just what it sounds like... an extra long (whatever size) socket

don't need it. I changed mine out today. I had a 3" extension for all 6 and did them all from above. It took me about 2 hours taking my time. I couldn't believe it I just got this car from a reputable nationwide dealership with 57k on the clock and the plugs and wires were never changed. This thing was throwing codes and misfiring so bad I couldn't drive it today. I changed those things out and it's brand new.

Nice... yeah my friend bought some Bosch plugs when he had his camaro... now he has a 350 z and has no need for them and is giving them to me.... but I haven't had an extra day... I could figure it out but what size is it?

ah not a clue there. I used a 3/8" ratchet with a 3" extension, but I'm not sure of the socket size. I know it's the smaller of two, pretty sure there's only two. I would recomend wearing some mecahnic's gloves if you got em. I look like I got in a fight with a friggin cat and lost.

AHHH!!! BOSCH!!! Those supposedly are a no-no for our car. I've never used them, and don't plan on it.......just letting you know. We had to change the plugs in my friend's Mustang (we call it the Mustake cuz of all the work WE have had to do to it (we being my dad and myself)), and we found Bosch in there. They were making it misfire like crazy, so we replaced them with soem Auolite's, thing runs like a dream now (until he went and supposedly threw a rod).

really I thought bosch were some of the best and these are pre-spaced for a 3.8l camaro

Bosch plugs are fine for your car as long as its not boosted or has nitrous. I ran Bosch double platinums on my other 97 for about 40,000 miles and ran them again on my current Camaro for about 20,000 until I got TR6's for the nitrous.

Eh, TR6's are only $13 for a set of 6, Bosch are ~$24 if I remember correctly. High performance and cheaper

Honestly I'd scrap the Bosch plugs and go with NGK TR55's (good for N/A) or TR6's (good for N/A or boost/spray) cuz they are cheap and very effiecient. Just my .02

just FYI you should run the brand the car came with just because other manufatures make a plug that fits your car doesnt mean the heat range is right it could be to cold and you loss power or to hot and break an electrode or the porceline(how ever you spell that) once you boost or spray though thats another story

TR55's will work just dandy on a N/A car. Many people have been doing it for years. ;)

Well I am going with the bosch because I have them and believe they are good for my N/A camaro... thanks for the info though
