  • where to get a 160 thermostat for a 98 3.8?

just like the nam of the post implies, all the places ive seen run them for the 93-97 3.8's but not higher. Whats a good place I can go to find 3.8 v6 performance parts (not rksport.com not thunderracing.com)

just so I know, over at hypertech I looked at their thermostats, would the kragen or other auto part store versions work the same or should I just buy one from hypertech. And If i get one from hypertech, do I just get th eone designed for the 1993-200 ls1? I didnt see a version for the 3.8 on their site.

The one SLP sells for the Grand Prix's is all you need, 160stat wise. Its Hypertech Model 1003 if you're curious.

You can get this thermostat by ordering one from thunderracing or wherever, the one for the 3.8 fits all 3.8s - no difference between 95 and 2002.

i would go get yourself a 160 stat from the parts store for 3-4 bucks. I think "performance" stats are a joke. At a specific temp it opens and at a specific temp it closes...not a whole lot of room to improve that except for reliablilty and even the cheap stats last a long time. Even if they didn't most car enthusiasts will flush their cooling system once a year (at least) for most of us that includes a new stat.
