  • Misfire Problem solved, yeah!!

    hello friends,
some weeks ago i pictured my misfire problem at this forum..... Poping noise at WOT or uphill....
The repairman changed the plugs, the wires and the coils - one coil was corroded at the terminal....
but nothing solved the problem, still misfire!

My Camaro (3,8L V6) was four weeks in the shop

    and now the solution:

there was a single cable break in the wiring harness from the ECU to the ICM!
Oh God, what a simple error.... :) :(
I spend Euro 450,- ($ 560,-) for parts and labor.....
Fortunately has the repairman not changed the ICM too.....

hope this experience helps a little bit to save money in the future......
    greetings from Germany
    Thomas

PS: sorry for my english... if you found any mistakes, let me know....I'm learning

I had almost the same problems you were describing and mine turned out to be just plugs and wires. $42 for my fix.

              …ain’t (sp?) that the truth:p
Thomas, you are doing very well with the English language - most people in America haven’t even mastered it as well as you have already. I have heard that the English language is the most difficult to learn anyway
              Good luck with it though:)

anytime you unplug the knock sensors, PCM, crank position sensor or cam position sensor (aka interruptor)
you have to do a Case Learn

Yes, I have a Camaro here in Germany........ not my first US-car!
sooner I had three Fieros, a 3rd gen. Firebird and a 4th gen Firebird......

slow6 I have mixed up CASE with capitalization..... sorry :)

EDIT: now I understand what you mean..... quasi an ECU relearn / calibration to the sensors....
                        thx
