What is a max safe amount of rpms for a stock engine?

what kind of engine do you have? the 3.4l is ineffiecent after 4500rpms.

it all depends on the way the engine is designed, timimg, and other factors. basically, its, how far an engine will rev before the timing becomes off, or unbalanced.

im wondering about valve float too
its the 3.8 so it gets inefficient after 5300 rpms, depending on mods

you can advance the timing and get a tune. that will help power alot. and just a tune will help gas milage and over all just running better.

I'm not interested in this
I am interested in DD cruise/idle AFRs

I dont want to rev my engine that high, ever.
Unless I rebuild it again, which probably wont happen on this engine

I think ite was around 6300 when valve float affected it.

I had mine up to almost 6100, and I didn;t have any problems. I was trying to keep it so I could go throught he 1/4 traps in 3rd gear with 3.42s.
