I have 1997 3.8, the car has no power , it could not spin the tires on ice(maybe)
i changed the plugs, wires, all coils, new injectors, fuel filter, drained old gas out,
i do get a misfire code
car idles a little rough, but smooth out when you give it a little gas, and run smooth, rev it up and sounds good,
the car just has no power what so ever
any thought
thanks
How many miles? Clean the TB, air filter...depending on miles maybe the cat is clogged. But you'd prolly throw a code... Just trying to help!

have you ever replaced the cat? It might be getting pretty clogged and causing you to have no power. It can also cause the random misfire code that you are getting

i will try that
can i just replace it with a pipe,
or do i need 02 sims ?
you will have a code that gets tripped if you don't get an o2 sim or tune it out with HP tuners or mail order tune.
Get under the car and hit the cat and see if you can hear anything rattling or loose in there. Also you don't have any wires crossed or on the wrong coil or anything do ya?
if your misfiring on one cylinder the car will idle a litte rough but then it will smooth out when you get to the higher RPM's... the problem being not only are you missing a cylinder fire but without that cylinder fire you are missing out on a LOT of hp... the cat would do it... but my car was just misfiring on cylinder 4 and i had to get new wires even though it just had new wires put on it not too long ago... once i changed that... she scoots now
ok i had the coverter cut off today
a snail could go faster
still runs like crap
we double check firing order good
we pulled each spark plug wire off the coil, one at a time
then started the car, they all sparked like crazy
i will pull the plugs and recheck them, they have maybe 50 miles on them
