      Re: 3.4 vs 3.8

By outdrive him, I mean I drive smarter... I can pull everything out of my car, whereas he's got 100 pounds in speakers/subs/amps + whatever his neons and body kit weighs. (The more I think about it, he's a ricer :( ) I can drop the clutch for a good launch on my 245/50's whereas his dad just bought him 215's cuz the guy at the farm king said they would fit. He doesnt know how to launch his auto. His only mod is a drop in K&N. I'm gutting my cat this coming weekend. I noticed with my CAI that the power doesnt drop off so short at 4500 anymore, with the cat gutted it should help too. How much I can afford? well i said earlier 300-400. I dont think its enough for nitrous, so I thought mayble a 1LE DS and UD pullies, then start saving for a rebuild, cuz nitrous probably wouldnt be good for an engine with 150,000 on it, and if i rebuild then i can do a 3400 head/intake swap. I dont trust myself with the TB work. Is there any way to pull off the AIR system? It seems like it just adds more air to the exhaust and therefore has to make the exhaust system flow more. (Breathing through a straw then needing 2 people to blow through the same straw.) Its also challenging the intake for taking in air via the black hose in the intake... thats gotta be worth some HP and mpg?

                Re: 3.4 vs 3.8

my 3.4 would take any 3.8 i went against to 50 never raced beyond that though that was stock. with test pipe tb ported & cai w/ high flow filter my buddys 3.4 just fell farther and farther behind easily 2 cars @ 60. every 3.8 ive ever driven(all stock) has had a serious lack of low end in comparison to the 3.4 and yes i know this thread is old
