its the removal of your EGR unit and the blocking of the exhaust manifold and intake manifold holes left behind. It also means putting an EGR sim in place to trick your computer or having the code tuned out.
People do this to keep the EGR from recirculating hot exhaust gases back into the intake. There are side effects to this though -

where did you search out of curiousity? If you search in the intake/exhaust and tuning section you will find all you need to know and more.
Basicly you remove the egr system, block off the holes and use a sim or tuner to prevent the codes from popping up. Advantages and disadvantages can be found from the many threads on it in the exhaust and tuning sections. ;)Comment
