Hey all, I've been trying to burnout in my new tires (as much as i want them to last i just cant stand not inhaling some rubber every now and then) but for some reason i cant get a nice smoke cloud going, and i seem to have forgotten how to do it (i did it with my stock tires before they were bald....) also I can get a nice half second peel out every now and then but most of the time it leaves little or NO mark...i want to do a fat one late at night on this one concrete slab at school just to say "yea that was me" but i need some help... ive got a 2001 3.8 auto and some basic mods, intake and exhaust mainly... whats the best way to do a looong burnout and how do you ensure dark marks???? ill chekc my gears later but also, when you do a wheel stand and brake then gas to 1800 rpm then let off brake and smash gas, is that just like an assisted peel out, since your not holding the brake any more? and if you gas it for too long while holding the brakes will it hurt it? any tips or tricks are greatly appreciated thanks!!

You have an automatic,,,what's the problem?
At least I assume you do "Automatic Transmission Street Bird"
Hold the brake all the way down, and hit the gas. That's it.
The mark you leave will depend on how much tread your tires have left, and what kind they are. The longer you spin the tires, the darker the marks will be.
If you want a smoke show,,pour some water on the back tires..or bleach. You need to hold the gas for about 10 seconds to get any results.

Try esing off the brake VERY slightly and they will light up easier. Just hold the brake hard enough to not roll, but not so hard that it clinches the rear brake too hard. And yes, water or bleach will help:)www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

you need posi or need to be going in the direction that your rear happens to lock when you turn (for me, open diffy, mine locks going left). get some speed (25mph or 30), start turning the direction you want, and punch it.
o yea, NOTE: DO NOT LET OF THE GAS! this is the most important step. even if you panic when the back end slides out, DONT LET OFF THE GAS! thats when you lose control of where the car goes.

I did a few burnouts and my first donut last night. I must give it to my new tires(see sig) The only time I was not in control of the car was when I would get to 25-30 mph then turn hard while pulling the hand brake. They didn't even loose traction when I hit a speed bump in a hard turn, so I can see why it is harder to spin your car out.95 Firebird
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/673250
http://photobucket.com/albums/y217/andrewbrandon19/

me on a good day------> linky

LOL... What the hell is this... People having problem with burning out. I tend to have a problem with not burning out and not leaving a mark. Lol... Donuts... how much can there be to it. Turn in one direction - try not to overturn so that you don't hurt the powersteering - and floor it. What the hell is the problem?1996 Camaro
Nothing special really done yet!

I have a five speed as well.. and it's actually easier to do a burnout with this than with the automatic I used to have. If you have drum brakes in the back, makes it that much easier.. what I do is hold in the cluth with my toes and hold the brake with my heal...of the left foot obviously... lol.. rev the engine to like 3000... put my toes up and that's it!1996 Camaro
Nothing special really done yet!
