hey does anyone make an alt.or a ps underdive pulley that will fit the 3800 engine?

Would these to type of pulleys work on a 01 camaro? What is the difference between a 14% underdrive, and a 10% overdrive alternator pulley? Also how hard is it to remove stock alternetor pulley and install the new one?

an underdrive pulley "under-powers" the accessory it's attached to. An overdrive pulley "over-powers" the accessory it's attached to.

basically, underdrive pullies don't take as much power from the engine, but they don't give as much power to the accessory either. Overdrive pullies take more power from the engine, but they give more power to the accessory.

You typically see overdrive pullies on superchargers, since it increases the supercharger's output.

From my understanding our cars are already underdriven. So buy getting after markter bullies there is no real benefit. I wouldnt waste the money on them Frank.

i looked into these a little while ago and came to the same conclusion...not really worth it

the really arnt...if uve already dont every other bolt on u can do and have money to burn y not do it...but they really dont give u much of a hp boost

3.8s are already 'under pullied'.

My brother put underdrive pullies on the 3.4. Install was pretty easy. An impact wrench helps a lot though, because the alternator bolt is ON there
