I try to drive like an old woman but then i floor it and say "its just this one time" and then end up keep doing it just because its addicting and how the **** did he get 29 mpg i get like 15 or 16mpg
I've been there. After a few tickets though, you'll change your ways (I haven't gotten one yet, luckily). When I put my aluminum DS in, it rode alot smoother, and kinda moved that going fast feeling (when the whole car's vibrating like crazy) to upto like 90mph. I still do 90 every once in awhile, but while in the city, I'm gonna get pulled over for doing 90, and then put into jail, so I said screw that and started doing the speed limit. When I get the chance, I go out to old dirt roads and let her fly. Just went out and hit 110 the other day :D . I also go out and drift on some roads daily, so that keeps my speed sensation down.
ive had my car for about 5 weeks now, and the first 4 weeks i was putting 10 dollars in it every 3 days. but now i realize if i drive more like a grandma, i havent put 10 dollars in it in like 4 days so far, and im still above 1/2 tank. you can still drive fast, just take your time getting there, i used to speed up to the speed limit in like a second.
its amazing how much gas i can save by just calming down. haha
I get around 33+ mpg on the highway when I follow the speed limit. My city mpg is around 22+ doing the same. Last week I drove 300+ miles on the interstate at 80+ mph and my gas mileage dropped to 28.5. Just some food for thought.
The mods I currently have on my '97 are Flowmaster exhaust, K&N air filter, TransGo Shiftpak, and I took almost 60 pounds of 'ballast' out of the rear-end by removing the seats, spare tire, jack... all that extra crap. Also, I maintain my car very well, normal oil changes at the proper intervals, fuel injector cleaner, normal tuning maintenance. DO NOT FORGET to check the air pressure in your tires, that effects your gas mileage as much as anything else.

That's crazy. How much is gas where you live? That's only like 3.8 gallons of gas around here, and I wish that 3.8 gallons of gas could even last me 2 days. :( Lucky you I guess :)
