Idle speed is not adjustable. It also does not vary with temperature except in the very early stages of warm-up.
If your idle is 1200 rpm, the engine has either been improperly modified or you have a vacuum leak.
The factory Service Manual has good troubleshooting instructions for improper idle speed. You might take a look at that.
Is the check engine light on?
If I wanted my idle speed to be 1000rpms I can make it that no problem. I would say it is adjustable. But in his case if his engine is fully warmed up and still at 1200rpms he has problems
Check all of your vacuum hoses for leaks/cracks. And try other basic tune up things and see if anything makes a difference on your idle. Good luck with everything.
Just run your hand over the lines and at it's ends and you will feel it sucking. Also, I would assume if you had a spray bottle and put some water in it and sprayed your vacuum hoses, air bubbles would form anywhere there was air being sucked in, or pushed out.

sorry for all the questions but i know of the brake booster vaccum hose where are the others?
I'm actually not too sure on where others are located, but I guess if you have a Haynes manual or your owners manual (something with a diagram of the engine and hoses) you could get an idea of any hoses that act as a vacuum.
Perhaps one of the more mechanical members of this board could answer this question with a little more detail.
All the lines going into your manifolds are vacuum lines. Just search all around. Try spraying some carb/choke cleaner and listen for it to steady out for a few seconds. The n you'll know the area its leaking from. good luck

Ok.
Let me rephrase.
The idle speed is not intended to be adjustable in the field and if some undocumented method of mechanical idle adjustment is employed, that often creates just as much trouble as it solves.
The correct way to alter idle speed is by changing the calibration.
