  • Oil Pressure / SES Problems

Well yesterday I decided to take out my subwoofers and stick with just one. I disconnected the battery and all did what I had to do and put it back on. Now prior to this I had the SES Light on (had it checked about a month ago and they said its a bad o2 sensor in the rear of the exausht). I never changed it.

Now the SES light is back off, this usually happens when I unhook the battery and usually comes back on. But today I noticed that my oil pressure is pretty high( Well over 60, mabe 68,69,70 ) when the throttle is wot. This is not normal its usually like 58. I dont know if the o2 sensor could be causing this, I am not sure. If anybody could explain some causes for high oil pressure that might help ty.

The reason your SES light probably went off is because you unplugged your battery and it reboot the computer when you plugged it back in causing it to clear out any codes. The SES light may come back on in a day or two in that case.

As for your o2 censor being bad, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say you had Auto Zone check the code for it? I swear I think their computers will only read the code for o2 censors. I've brought 3 different vehicles up there in the past months, each one they said the o2 censors were bad. The only difference is they specified which one on the two cars, but on my truck they said all 4 of them were bad. Well, I changed all 4 of them on my truck, it didn't fix the problem, changed the fuel injector, that fixed the problem. It was just running rich and there was a piece cracked inside the fuel injector. As for one of the cars that they said an o2 censor was bad, I told them they were wrong because I had just changed the o2 censor's a few weeks before, and I reset the computer and the SES light has yet to come back on and the car is running perfectly fine. The other vehicle I have no clue what it was because it wasn't my vehicle, it was a friends and I haven't asked him more about his SES light since then.

Yea, It is kinda cold over here in NY, 45degrezze. I changed the oil like 2000 miles ago. I really dont mind as long as no damage will be done to the engine.

And yea I didnt know that taking the battery off would reset the computer. The SES Light usually comes back after 2 days or so.

          ty all.
