I know there could be many things, but could someone tell me what to do/check on my bird becausee i got the new engine in but it wont start up.

    Symptoms:
-Sounds like its not getting gas
We checked it had pressure and gass in the lines
Starter Fluid made it turn over twice
-Short in post O2 cat sensor, lit a small flame, yeah that was fun :omg:
I havnt really worked on newer cars much but i can run with that off right?
    Unplugged it
    -Has Oil pressure
-Has Gas...lol:naughty: im not that dumb
-All A/c components dissconnected, waiting for parts
    -Ask about other things...

    Got any ideas???

turned over as in it started for a sec?

if so, it obviously a fuel problem. do you have a gauge to see the fuel pressure? are you sure all the fuel injector wiring is hooked up and such?

Yeah, it most definitely sounds like a fuel injector problem. Take them out and reinstall them, unless you are positive they are in there good enough and then check your wiring and make sure it is wired correctly and nothing was missed the first go around.

Good luck, and post any other information you can think of that you may have neglected/forgotten to post the first time.

More and more im thinking FI problem, i guess ill have to retrace the FI wiring.

Is there a way to run without Post o2 cat sensor in, besides o2 sim, i think that the o2 sim would just short out too. Can i go to a shop and have them delete to code or will it come up again later? i dont really want to rewire all the way under the car, it was a PIA just to get thos wired. If not ill just have my car guy fix it for me.

            Re: Engine Startup

the post-cat o2 sensor has nothing to do with your engine not starting!
I deleted the code on mine... never came back (of course not)
are you sure you got all the grounds connected to the block?
            I had that problem

have some one try starting the car, while you get by the exhaust outlet and see if you smell gas, you should if your car is getting gas. If you dont smell it, your not getting gas and need to checked your injectors.

                  Re: Engine Startup

Yeah im sure its getting fuel to the rails b/c we checked, and it fires when we use starting fluid.

Would it have anything to do with it now having the '00 rails/injectors not the '99 rails and injectors (there is a difference).

What ground is for the FI's?? Anyone know?

                    Re: Engine Startup

maybe you need to tune it for the rails/injectors

also, just cause you have fuel doesn't mean you have adequate pressure. :)

                          Re: Engine Startup

It shot out like a purge on nitrous i think theres enough pressure.

How do i dissconnect the fuel lines without spraying it everywhere? Since i cant just disconnect the fuel pump and kill it.

i would just pressure on the valve with a rag covering it until the pressure is released.

fuel pump relay will kill your pumps pumping pumpability. There will be gas....lots of it. Dont hang under that **** when you release it, even with a towel. gas tastes nasty
